It is a book with a rather different approach both to the material presented and the mode of presentation. The book aims to acquaint the student with the basic concepts and most important laws and theories in inorganic chemistry. Much space is given to contemporary views of the structure of matter and the theory of chemical bond Part one is a theoretical introduction to inorganic chemistry. Part two presents a detailed survey of the elements and the most important chemical compounds. The book will also be helpful to chemical engineers. The textbook is richly illustrated. At the time of original publication, Nail Akhmetov, D.Sc., was Professor of Inorganic Chemistry at the Kazan Chemical Engineering Institute.
