Out Of Print... This work has long been recognised as one that is indispensable to the student. Although it is in no sense a textbook since it deals with more general zoological problems, it can be read with profit at the same time as the many different textbooks available on morphological zoology. The object has been to provide a mutual illumination of systematic zoology and general biological principles and it has now, once more, been revised and brought up to date to keep it in step with rapid onward movement of zoology. New material has been added, particularly with reference to muscular contraction and several new illustrations have been included.
