This, the first of two volumes on Investigative Ultrasonology, contains the proceedings of three of the series of Workshops which was a central feature of the Third European Congress on Ultrasonics in Medicine. In each case an invited Chairman selected a group of topics and appropriate speakers and arranged the procedure of the workshop as he felt best. The result was an integrated collection of authoritative papers on some of the most vital areas in this rich and varied field. This volume contains the proceedings of three workshops with technical themes together with a general introduction by Dr P.N.T Wells. Part I deals with Automatic and Computer-Aided Sonography. Part II covers Living Tissue Identification and Movement Analysis and Part III is concerned with Dosimetry Control of Ultrasound and Standardisation of Equipment.
