It is an attempt to present all the morphological aspects of the urinary and genital systems as an intergrated whole, relating to gross anatomy, histology, fine structure and embryology in a single volume. It show the concept of anatomy, and its clinical relevance, which teachers would like to impart to their students; not a bare description based on the subject in the dissecting room, but a study of the living and functioning body at all the stages of its life history. The author also deals with congenital abnormalities and their actiology, and the processes of reproduction (including the functional anatomy of pregnancy and the early development of the embryo). The explaination of structure in terms of function is emphasized throughout to a much greater degree than usual in conventional texts. This book will meet the needs of both preclinical medical students taking 2nd MB, and postgraduate students reading for MRCOG and Primary FRCS.
