Conversational Welsh Course Book 1

Scores of members of Learning Welsh classes have written to the Faculty of Education at Aberystwpth in recent years to ask if we can supply them with a handbook and or tapes that will enable them to learn and to practise Welsh at home after attending classes. Similar requests have been received from learners who have not been able to find a class within reach of their homes or who may be living in England or in some other country. This Conversational Welsh Course, accompanied by a record, is presented as an attempt to fill that gap. It has been produced by Dan Lynn James, Research Lecturer in the Faculty and himself a very successful teacher. In accordance with normal practice in this series the work has been thoroughly tested with a class of learners before publication. I wish to thank the group of learners who helped the author during university session 1967-68.
