The aim of this book is to help primary school teachers to identify childrens special educational needs and to guide teachers in the provision of appropriale curriculum and instruction. The central message is that classteachers in primary schools have a crucial role in assessment, which is seen as the systematic observation of children's progress within the ordinary classroom setting.
